Transforming an empty space into a refined, functional, high-end bathroom requires thoughtful planning and expert execution. This remodel showcases how meticulous design choices—ranging from moisture-resistant finishes to optimized movement flow—can turn a blank slate into a luxurious, fully functional sanctuary.
The Challenge: Complete Luxury Bathroom Transformation

A client approached Decorilla to oversee a full renovation of their primary bathroom and closet. Their goal was a neutral, sophisticated interior with clean lines, built-in lighting, and entirely new fixtures. Starting from scratch required careful spatial planning and detailed technical coordination. Key objectives included:
- Designing a custom bathroom and closet layout
- Incorporating lime-wash wall finishes and fluted tile accents
- Creating a floating vanity with integrated LED lighting
- Selecting a corner tub with a wall-mounted filler and niche lighting
- Designing dual showers with built-in niches and LED accents
This project demanded a thoughtful blend of functionality, material selection, and lighting precision to achieve an elegant, cohesive result.
Design Inspiration: Modern Luxury Bathroom Aesthetics
The client gravitated toward inspiration featuring clean volumes, warm finishes, and a balance of glass, stone, and wood. Several references showcased premium bathroom layouts with enclosed wet zones, layered materials, and transitions defined by texture rather than walls. LED under-vanity lighting, illuminated step-ups, and seamless storage were recurring elements that influenced the direction.
Travertine, narrow wood slats, indirect lighting, and edge-to-edge mirrors stood out as consistent elements in the client’s moodboard. These cues shaped the design approach, emphasizing warmth, simplicity, and modern sophistication.
Initial Concepts: Choosing the Ideal Designer
Two designers—Kamila A. and Erika F.—were selected to present concepts based on the client’s goals.
Kamila A.’s concept featured warm neutrals, soft sculptural forms, and natural materials. Her layout emphasized uninterrupted floor planes, ambient lighting, and a gentle, calming visual rhythm.
Erika F.’s concept took a more architectural approach, highlighting proportion, lighting geometry, and refined contrast. Her moodboard incorporated stone, oak, fluted tiles, and concealed LEDs to create precise, intentional lines.
The client selected Erika’s direction, requesting only one adjustment: switching to wall-mounted faucets for the vanity.
The Reveal: Stunning Luxury Bathroom Remodel
The completed design prioritizes harmony in materials and spatial order. Vertical wood slats create continuous rhythm, pale tile flooring runs uninterrupted, and fixtures integrate seamlessly into the architecture. Lighting stays concealed within edges and recesses to maintain a clean, modern aesthetic.
Before and After
The original space was stripped down to framing and exposed plumbing. The new layout organizes each functional zone clearly, with walls framing use-specific areas and fixtures precisely aligned. Brass fittings sit flush against tile, and controls are recessed for a minimalist look.
The Floating Vanity
The custom vanity appears weightless thanks to concealed LED underlighting. Sleek drawers blend into the wood volume, while edge-to-edge mirrors and modern sconces add balance and visibility.
The Bathtub Alcove
A fitted alcove now houses the bathtub, complete with an arched frame that gives the area depth and focus. Built-in shelves and brass accents add functionality, while a statement pendant brings soft overhead lighting.
The Shower & Niche Detailing
Niches are measured for everyday products and positioned for comfortable reach. A glass-framed central shower maintains openness, while vertical slats continue into the walk-through closet for visual cohesion.
Walk-Through Wardrobe
The adjoining closet features full-height storage, integrated lighting, and continuous flooring. Each section is tailored for easy organization, creating a seamless extension of the bathroom’s luxury design.
Harmonizing Colors and Textures
A restrained palette enhances the space’s serenity. Pale wood adds warmth, cool-toned tile maintains brightness, and brass accents repeat just enough to add elegance without overpowering the design. Every surface interacts thoughtfully with light, creating a soft, refined atmosphere.
